Hello all, I work for a US-based company, and we have recently begun to pursue sales opportunities in Europe (specifically, at the moment, in Britain, but possibly expanding afterwards). I know there are rhetorical issues regarding both clarity and tone between US English and British English: diction is slightly different, spellings are different, and colloquial expressions are different.
At the moment, I'm trying to figure out what the issues are in US/British localization, what tools and services are available, what best practices are, and any of the "unknown unknowns." I have no practical experience with localization (merely some very basic theoretical concerns from school). Can any of you share some experience with me, and perhaps point me towards good resources? I'm particularly interested in American to British localization, but I think any information about localization is likely to be useful.
