Jeff, You might also consider Juliet Schor's work on the commodification of childhood. In my Family class, I have used her 2003 article “The Commodification of Childhood: Tales from the Advertising Front Lines” (Hedgehog Review 5 (Summer): 7 – 24.), based on her book _Born to Buy_. She specifically discusses the strategies used by corporations to market directly to children.
Good luck! Teresa Jeffrey Lashbrook wrote: > I was wondering if someone might help with recommending a reading. Any ideas? As always, thanks for the help in advance. > > > Jeff > > > -- ************************************************************* Teresa Ciabattari, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Department of Sociology Sonoma State University Stevenson Hall 2084-N 1801 East Cotati Avenue Rohnert Park, CA 94928 Phone: (707) 664-2703 Fax: (707) 664-3920 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Teaching Sociology" group.
