i see a distinction between insight and evidence, so i am going to say that i think there is consenus that the following are "givens":
 
individuals are products of social interaction
we are unfinished products as we are continually being shaped by others
we shape others also
this reciprocal shaping results in various qualities of life
no one is shaped the exact same way, but we share similar behavioral repertoires
humans are absolutely dependent on others for survival
resources are unequally distributed among populations of people
the distribution of resources remains fairly constant from generation to generation.
 
i am sure there are more, but these are the ones off the top of my head.
