Hi Randal,
Never had a problem like that here.  First thing I would check would be USB
and motherboard chipset drivers.  however the fact taht it is happening
across hardware makes me wonder if its a problem with your images or some
piece of software within your district.

What OS are you using?  latest service packs, etc?
