I have heard good things about the HDHomeRun tuners (http://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/atsc/) but have never tried them. They do not have to be installed in the media center and can be used by multiple pcs.

It is an AMD Athlon 64, K8N Neo MB, 2GB ram (I think) and a Hauppauge PVR-150 tuner. Nothing fancy or new, I’ve been using it for a few years and it still worked, just upped the OS. All I have added is some additional codecs.
