I will try it, but this is an LTSP server and it is happening to the dummy terminals. At random, say 17 kids are working and suddenly one will have his/her mouse and keyboard lock up. All other kids are working fine. So the teacher has them reboot their machine (the dummy terminal) and it works for awhile. I am heading over there this afternoon to find more info. Thanks

I have seen this cause problems on Ubuntu machines. Also, another way to troubleshoot more would be to open ssh on one of the machines that frequently has it happen. Once it is locked up you should be able to SSH into it. Type dmesg | tail. That should give you some more info on what's going on with it. She says: In the lab 1. multiple times a day on multiple computers the mouse or keyboard will suddenly stop working. I have the students then hard boot or move to another computer, but then they are unable to login and use apex because mozilla tells them that "firefox is already running". This happens to at least 2 students a class period and it causes the students to not be able to work. Any ideas? I have zero at this point. Oh, I understand the FF already running part. I mean the why the keyboards and mice suddenly freeze up. Richard G. Haffer ROE46
