Looking at the Swype web site, it appears to at least support the Droid X
(could be native). Don't see any version for the original Droid, though. :(

Due to the nature of the technology, I wonder if it only works on phones with
the larger screens?

Er.. wait a sec; apparently Swype is built-in to the Android OS if you've got a
Droid X (well it is on mine, anyway, and I'm pretty sure I didn't install it).

I just opened a new text message, tapped-and-held in the message box area
(where your typed letters appear - not the soft keyboard itself), and the third
menu option - "Input method" - allowed me to switch to Swype.

Having never used it before, I'm actually quite impressed with how well we're
getting along... this makes T9 an embarrassment to cell phones, IMHO! :P

Swype isn't available on the Verizon market, although you can grab the .apk

I forgot about swype. If you don't have swype, you must get it. I stopped
using the hardware keyboard once I got swype. I can type faster on swype than
I can on a computer with a full keyboard (usually).

Got my new Droid in the mail today. Can't wait to get home and start playing
with it.

What's everyone's favorite apps for the Droid? (If you have a droid ;-)
