The droid is amazing. I would still spend more time with my Kindle but I
sometimes eat a bit of candy . .

Tricorder
Got to make those folks who want to get the perfect system for Steve Jobs
drool a bit. It is what it says, a real working Tricorder from xTrek. It
graphs fluctuations in;
Gravity (how good was that roller coaster in real number instead of just how
'fun', Magnetic Flux (find studs in the wall (really) or scan for weapons
(ferrous only), Acoustic Spectrum, Geographic (GPS coord, compass, altitude,
heading, speed), EMS (WifI and celluar strengths) and Solar Activity
(Proton, Electron, UV, Spots, Flares, RF Flux over last month or so. Note
that for many options there is a scan mode with authentic sounds and a
analysis mode so you need to hit scan to gather data.

Google Voice - works great if you have 3G. Get the lowest voice minutes and
use GV.

Listen
I am hocked on podcsts; most of Twit.tv esp Security Now and TWIG, Escape
Pod, TED, most of NPR.

MyPlaces $$ but worth it IMHO
My daughter has many friends, I add a new place when a new friend comes
along so I can easily get back. We park in a very remote place going to a
street fest, I added the location of my car to find my way back. Have party
with kids? Stash small treasures around a park or field and add each
geocache to MyPlaces. When this is combined with the Radar App
already mentioned it provides a neat way for the smallest to find prizes.
Exploring a new town on foot, add your Hotel as a place.

Antenna
Shows you the location and strength of the tower you are using.

Here I Am
This will SMS or email both a Google Maps and Navigator link of you current
location to a contact. See Where Is My Droid below for opposite tool.

Where is My Droid
Put in a secret code and if someone SMSes the code to your phone it will
send back Google Maps and Navigator links to you. The opposite of Here I Am
above. Anyones who know the code can find you whenever they want. They SMS
the code to your phone and are able to find you. During a recent trip to
see the in-laws I gave them my phone # and the code and they could track
progress (and have supper ready when we got there). Also can let you know
if you left your phone in the car or at work and may be set to ring on
command or track a stolen phone. If a TGes emails me off list I will give
you my digits and the code word and you can find me at anytime (for tech
stuff).

My Tracks
Record your treks, it will create a google map of you jaunt and let you know
how many miles you traveled and many other stats.

Safe Neighborhood/Aloqa
Before we bought our new house or my Step-daughter got her new apartment or
we chose a hotel for the night I ran Safe Neighborhood. This is for Sex
Offenders location only. Use the Spot Crime channel in Aloqa to see all
other crime in your area.

Flixster for local movies.

Edwin
Ask him certain questions and it will speak answers to you. More responsive
than your average teen.

Timerific
Every Sunday it turns everything off before and back on after church or
other events as programmed.

Places Directory
Find the nearest bookstore or other place of commerce.

Gmail, GDoc, Navigator but the greatest of these is Navigator.

Enjoy the candy!!
