I moved from m0n0wall on a WRAP board and a WRT54gl with dd-wrt to the
WNDR3700 running dd-wrt and I'm pretty happy, even with the box
sitting in the basement. We've got wireless all over the house,
though I admit I've wired all my locations with fixed desktops. The
joy of owning the house and a drill.

Eh... got a dedicated box with mirrored drives and tape backups.

My only complaint with this setup is that the DNS server software they
ship with dd-wrt, DNSMasq, is a huge step backwards from m0n0wall.
But I do like having it all in one single box again...

Mostly, I want my home systems to be more easily assigned IPs/names in
DNS without me having to specify:

    address=/wp/192.168.1.61
    address=/wp.stoffel.home/192.168.1.61

in a crazy format. It sucks. I've been too busy with other
distractions to look into fixing this or moving to Tomato or other
tools. Anyone have a suggestion on fixing it?

And to Andrew, I agree that these are nice boxes, flash dd-wrt on
there and you should be just fine. And then stick it in the center of
the basement up high and you should have good covereage everywhere.
