In addition to the questions you were asking I have one other angle I'm curious about: Anyone have insight on the admin overhead differences between the two solutions? The NetApp system is pretty simple and volume management doesn't take long to train junior admins on - and their online documentation always tells us how to do whatever we need with it. How is this for the Sun ZFS solution? Especially if you were a shop with no meaningful Solaris experience.
