I just returned (about 45 minutes ago) from the local Sun dog'n'pony show
about the 7x00 series.
They look nice, and the primary access is via the webgui. I think that there is
a CLI available, but it's not a shell at the OS level, if I understand it
correctly.
However, one feature that they mentioned is that the interface is scriptable
via python. The example that was given was scripting periodic snapshots at time
intervals that are not available via the GUI. Sounds cool...
