PADL is the free "roll your own" LDAP - lots of people have used it.
Centrify and Likewise are commercial products (and offer similar features) - and yes, likewise "open" is free and works well [we use it as well] -- but you'll need their commercial offering(s) if you want to start doing global policy stuff as far as the *nix nodes go. Likewise has a mac offering too. As far as PADL/Likewise/Centrify goes, they all doo sort of "the same thing", but vary widely in the details. The latter is what will ultimately help you decide what works. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
