hello Dane

Actually, this is one reason why Gordon is keen to get 1Password working
properly. We are all to aware of the problems and dangers that cookies can
cause and, if we had a reliable mechanism for log-ins at sites we regularly
visit, we would definitely take steps to disable cookies and things. We use
session cookies with our secure file manager. But they are not malicious. They
are used for the soul purpose of storing log-in data throughout the session. If
somebody chooses to remember their log-in credentials by checking the check box
on our sight, that's a different matter. But even then our cookies are not
malicious.

But the point here is that we give people the option; we certainly do not, and
would not use any malicious code whatsoever and we track nobody and nothing.
But I am getting off the point.

Since it seems that we are going to have to use Windows a little bit here, it's
good to be protected against unwanted junk. So I opted to make the investment.
I am a firm believer that "you gets what you pays for". Free software, with the
obvious exception of that which is written by enthusiasts, usually brings
catches. For instance there was a bit of a hu-hah recently about Microsoft's
Windows Live. Apparently Microsoft were using that to collect information about
the machine, its mail activity and address books.

We really don't like Outlook, and the Express version should be banned! I can't
comment about the later versions but Express is probably the biggest security
threat which was legitimised that ever existed in the world of I.T.

Yep, I had a licence for the Vipre Enterprise version, I had been warned
against buying that actually by someone else. I could never get it to work
either so I contacted Vipre Customer Support, told them of my error of
purchasing the wrong version and they had no hesitation in refunding me the
purchase cost and sending me a direct URL for the purchase of Vipre Anti Virus
Premium and that's what I did <smile>.

You're absolutely right about cookies and their danger is very much under
stated and under estimated when it comes to compremising security, its
suggested a lot nowadays that one should actually set one's browser to "Clear"
one's browsing history, cache etc when the browser is closed, yep that's how
seriously the issue of Cookies is taken.
