There are some other differences, but the major difference between
desktop and laptop keyboard layout is that for laptops, you use the
caps lock key instead of the insert key as the modifier in desktop
layout. A lot of commands don't really change at all.
Press insert f2 and s to go to settings center. In the search field you
can type keyboard. Perhaps one of the settings got changed there.
