Hi

Yes, apparently the same procedure is used. The reason that Humanware does
things this way is because the original manufacturer of the motherboards was
"SuperVario", not Humanware. Humanware apparently acquired the hardware rights
and then marketed the displays as their own. But the motherboards, presumably
firmware-based, still have the original names badged.

I'm not sure whether the same is true of later generations, although I would
think it is. All that the HumanWare engineers have done is disable the DC port
and, possibly on some of their displays, the USB port as well, and marketed the
displays as wireless or USB/wireless.

That's information I have been given by a former HumanWAre employee I happen to
know.

Usually one installs the driver after plugging in the device by locating it in
the device manager and right click and hit enter on install or update driver.
However, when I read the instructions for installing the usb driver for the new
generation Brailliant BI 40 they stated that the drivers should be installed
before you plugged the display to the computer.
If the previous generation also use the same approach just download the Driver
Tool which is an exe file and run it.
A window will appear were one can choose to install usb driver and the tool
will copy the files to the correct locations.
When done I connected the Brailliant and it showed up in device manager.

Subject: Installing Drivers

Hi all

My Windows skills seem to be a little rusty. How, for instance, does one go
about installing a set of drivers for a device which isn't plugged into the
machine?

I've done this before which is why it is so frustrating. But I'm damned if I
can remember how I did it.
