Re Ribbons
Jaws has a virtual menu system to replace these which you can turn on in the
startup wizard under Jaws help menu.

Re Voices Jaws does not list Sapi 5 Voices by synthesiser group.
Instead you go to voice adjustment.
Then you change the voice profile to Sapi 5 Factory default
Then tab to voice person combo box and you should find all the voices from
all your Sapi 5 voice engines here in one list.

Hopefully this will let you find the voices you require.

Subject: Office 2010, a culture shock! Plus, Jaws and dreadful voices

Hi all

I've finally got around to installing Microsoft Office 2010 on my machine.
First thing, I am distinctly unimpressed with the way that Window-Eyes
interfaces with Office, particularly Word. But the thing that has me
reeling a little is the new "Ribbon" interface, I think that's what they
call it. For instance, and this question may be best answered by Mary, how
the devil do I export a document to Duxbury?

On a different topic, how do I stop Jaws from saying things like "Alt+Tab",
"Windows+M", and things like that each time I press a key combination?
Finally, I have some high quality SAPI voices installed but despite the fact
that they are not tied voices, Jaws won't see them. Why? The voices in
question are Acapella Group and Ivona voices. I just can't tolerate those
disgustingly awful Elloquance and Dectalk Access32 voices, and I hate the
nauseating Daniel and other so-called RealSpeak voices. It's bad enough to
hear them in VoiceOver on Apple's platform, let alone Windows. I got rid of
them on OS X and I would dearly love to do the same under Windows.
Window-Eyes sees them, so why won't Jaws?

Gordon
