Interesting.

There are two types available here, one for 500MBPS and one for 100MBPS.

I can see potential problems with this over long distances as described in the 
article David linked to in an earlier message, I'll have a talk to my supplier 
and see if I can arrange a trial of a few of these devices.

You mentioned that the system was trialled 20 years ago? Well that being the 
case then I think we need to take two additional factors into consideration.

Firstly a lot has changed in 20 years when it comes to technology so perhaps 
these Nine Adapters may have changed with the times too?

Secondly I don't even remember the Internet being in existence 20 years ago and 
- if it was - then it must have been in its infancy, this is Australia of 
course but the first I ever heard of the Internet was in 1994.
