    It sounds like you may have the right router/switcher, what is make/model of your 
"Hub?".  As far as the long run, you have to wire a different way many times to make 
it work.  Color code, same at both ends, :-), Wor,Or,Wgr,Bl,Wbl,Gr,Wbr,Br.

Doug, I'm definetly not a network guru but I believe I have heard that
with a hub, you need to use one computer as a host for the other
computers connected through the hub. A router on the other hand, acts as
the host for ALL the computers on the network, as well as having a
hardware firewall. If I am wrong, please correct me.
