I'm new to this list (even though I've been subscribed for almost two year) but I'd like to say that an newbie introduction is really necessary. I admit I have not learned some MusixTeX yet and this is due to the lack of a "basics" manual when I discovered it: now I have knowledge enough to start and learning, but for a person who has never heard of TeX and similar is almost impossible - or it would require a lot of time and backgroung understanding which not everyone has :-(
