Hi Cornelius, my version is 2.512, sorry for not mentioning it before.
This example is a try to circumvent the 5-tuplets in a 2/4 mesure.
Then you will probably say, why 5-tuplets? Well, the piece i'm working on
has as title 'O little bird'. Each mesure has 2 5-tuplets.
In the real piece the song bar (here not shown) has normal notes, ie 'a8 a'
in a 2/4 mesure becomes 'a8 rb1 a8 rb1' in a 5/8 mesures. The layout shows
ok, but the midi is a little bit poor.

Hi Andre,
I tested your example and had the same problem, but - strangely enough -
somewhat differently:
! Undefined control sequence.
l.28 \tbbl1\tbl1\tl
1\tl1\tl1\tl1\tl1\tl1\tl1\tl1\qb1G\tbu1\qb1{```B}\sk\sk|%
Why am I getting "\tbbl1", while you have "\tbbu1" ??
Otherwhise it seems to be the same place at which TeX coughs (I used PMX,
Version 2.508).
As to the pmx bug (obviously that's what it is), I have no idea what's
going on --- I guess we will have to wait what Don says about it.

PS. Just for completeness, as an attachment I am sending you the (crazy)
output I get if I insist that tex finish the run; but I can't get any hint
from that :-(
