Actually I do have an issue with producing musixdoc.pdf: The internal links do not work. So I tried my same scheme on the PMX manual, and its internal links did not work either. Both of these used 64-bit dvips that came with MiKTeX, and 64-bit ghostview to make the pdf. So I tried making the pdf of the pmx doc using acrobat distiller, and the internal links worked. I guess that's good news, but the bad news is that distiller wouldn't even process musixdoc.ps, it claimed there was a postscript error: ============================================== Start Time: Monday, February 16, 2015 at 23:10:46 Source: musixdoc.ps Destination: C:\Users\Don\Documents\junk\musixdoc.pdf Adobe PDF Settings: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\Standard.joboptions %%[ Error: rangecheck; OffendingCommand: pdfmark; ErrorInfo: View --nostringval-- ]%%

No PDF file produced. ] %% Distill Time: 00 Hour(s) : 00 Minute(s) : 00.171 Second(s) **** End of Job **** =============================================== So as things now stand, if I were still responsible for musixdoc (which I'm not, thanks Bob!) I wouldn't be able to make a pdf of it with working internal hyperlinks. I too hate LaTeX :-) and I was thinking that was my remark, but consistent with Dirk's comments, it was there in a 1988 version of musixdoc.tex, before I had done anything to it. --Don Simons ------------------------------- [email protected] mailing list If you want to unsubscribe or look at the archives, go to http://tug.org/mailman/listinfo/tex-music
