Dear moron David, How fortunate you are that you did not see any sign of anything being different than it has been the last 13 years. Please do be careful. What would we do for our caving information and entertainment without you?

Just 48 hours before my arrival, the authorities allege that the Zetas, broke 13 of the comrades out of prison there. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/05/world/americas/05mexico.html I went to the dentist, got a haircut, visited 2 very nice restaurants and walked around downtown at night, and had a very delicious taco from a roadside vendor. I talked to lots of people. I drove all over town. I did not see any sign of anything being any different than it has been the past 13 years that I have been going there. The locals seem to know where not to go, and it does seem probable that a person not familiar with the town, could end up in one of those places, and get captured by the Zetas. While I was a moron for being their alone, I never felt or sensed any danger. It seems odd to me that just a few years ago, the average person in this town was poor, and now you see lots of 2009 model Cadillacs, and other cars that cost way over $ 40,000 USD. There is not any sign of a recession in Reynosa, except for a few panhandlers at the traffic lights. Unfortunately, my in-laws who live there, are the poorest people in their area of town, and are surviving in deplorable living conditions. It seems all my charitable efforts to help them have been in vain.
