Charles, I wanted to say thank you for all your hard work on the Texas Cavers list server. I know that most of this work is behind the scenes and commonly goes unrecognized and unappreciated. However, Texascavers provides an important service to Texas cavers by acting as a forum to discuss issues related to caves and caving.
Also, as a long time subscriber to TAGNET, I wanted to make a few comments. TAGNET has also had its problems with folks posting off topic issues and some that are only marginally related to caves (some of them are actually quite interesting). I believe that the TAGNET moderator has actually had to remove one or two folks from the list because of their ranting. When the TAGNET list was first set up, one of the requirements was that you either live or actively cave in the TAG area. You also had to have someone recommend you for the list but that was really the only requirements. If I remember right, these requirements were placed on the list so that it would stay a regional user group and not evolve into a national forum. Having said that, some of the best cave posts I've read on TAGNET were from Alan Cressler who was a long time TAG cave who was living in Arizona and posting about Arizona caves. Anyway, thank you for your dedication and service to Texas caving and keep up the great work. Geary Schindel
