Don started caving with us in Arkansas about 1964.  We immediately 
recognized him as hard core and most welcome.   He became proficient in 
no time, and was a most valuable member of any project.  During the 
all-too-short time he was with us we caved every weekend and some days 
we should have been in class. He's still legendary here among those of 
us old enough to have caved with him.
