Respected  Mr Rajaram,
Please stop the Tamil abusing. By your abusing  again and again you provoke
others  and shows yourself your culture is low and you are degrading your
former ITS position which you hold with prestige. You may appreciate my
thinking - I hope.

The moment you stop your abusing, others will also stop abusing you.

Meaning of themantra.

1. Let noblethoughts come to us from every side.{ and these thoughts found in
Tamil sanga Ilakkiyam and Niruktam and Mahabharatha shanti parvam etc spread
over righteously today the the 6th sept 2023 Krishna Jayanthi day aftert he
teachers' day. }

2. May auspicious benevolent doers of good deeds, inviolable or un-molested from
all quarters, un-forsakable or worthy ofassociation ,annihilators of all
miseries, learned men endowed with divinevirtues ever come to our homes to give
us knowledge. May they be our protectorsevery day for our advancement, never
failing their duties, being alert ordevoid of laziness.

3. As a well-built good house suitable in all seasonsgives all happiness, in
the same manner, men should know that knowledge, learned persons and yajnas
consiting of art and crafts cause happiness to- all.

“May the benevolent favour of the gods (be ours); may thebounty of the gods,
ever approving of the upright, light upon us; may we obtainthe friendship of
the gods, and may the gods extend our days to longevity.”

TheMantra you quoted in the question is from Rig-Veda Samhita 1.89.1 - Rishi
ofthis Sukta is Gautama and the deity is Vishvadevas. This Mantra is also
foundin Vajaseniya Samhita 25.14. This sukta is calledShantipath sukta or
Swastimantra. where Swasti means a blessing seeking thewell-being of people.
These mantras are used to invite peace and Well-being ordrive away negative and
destructive forces.

May auspicious works, unmolested, unimpeded, andsubversive (of foes), come to
us from every quarter. May the Gods, turning notaway from us, but granting us
protection day by day, be ever with us , for ouradvancement. - H.H. Wilson.

May noble thoughts come to us from every side, unchanged, unhindered, undefeated
in every way; May the gods always be with us for ourgain and our protectors
caring for us, ceaseless, every day. - AlternateTranslation

According to scholars, this mantra shows the willingnessof Vedic people and
culture to receive noble and worthy ideas/thoughts/worksfrom all the quarters
i.e. from all the parts of the universe. That meansincluding all the lokas also
like dyu Loka etc. which are beyond earth. But itis said that let us not accept
those noble works/thoughts/works under pressurefrom something. That means we
should accept those willing fully. And let themen proceed and achieve their
goal, development with those.

This mantra is important in sociological context asexplained by the author By
M. Ram Murty in his book Indian Philosophy: AnIntroduction. He is explaining
the context as follows

Another celebrated hymn occurs in the first book: AnoBhadra Kratavo yantu
visvatah (Let noble thoughts come from all directions)(Rig Veda 1.89.1 ). This
verse emphasises the complementarity of humanknowledge. It highlights the need
to learn from all the directions becauseknowledge is not the monopoly of any
single individual or nation or race . Thepursuit and expansion of knowledge in
the widest sense of the word is acollective human endeavour.

So in summary this mantra crosses all the boundaries ofreligion and appreciates
and accepts good /auspicious/ and dharmik ideas andworks, which are beneficial
for society from other parts of the world/universe.This is also a symbolism of
tolerant religion, which do not hate, ban thoughts, thought processes, rituals,
customs, and beliefs from other cultures as well.Because Vedic Dharma is
Sanatana and the core teaching of Vedic religion isSarvam Khalvidam Brahma. So
respecting all the good works from all directionsi.e. religions present in
other parts from all the directions.

Subramanya Bharathi evokes the rights of the Bhartathamand its culture, seeking
knowledge and wealth from all over in 1939 before evengetting the freedom for
India from the British; and today we are really free tobe called the
Bharatiyan.
He says lets walk on the Himalayas; lets send ships all over the westernseas to
get the wealth from there to Bharatha Desam.  Let us make the educational
institutions as atemple of worship; lets boast as BHARTHA DESAM.

Let us get the trade expand all over the west and bringthose treasures into the
Bharatha desam. We obtain Pearls from the sea from thesouth and trade over the
west. Let us make war tools; make paper industry; letus speak the truth boldly;
let us start as many industries as possible and bringin the educational
institutions; and never we shall rest till all these areachieved. Let us hail
Bharatha Desam.

And Rig vedam said it 10000 years backas:

My comments.  I have heard and read comments from eminent scholars saying that
this veda-vaakyam only asks that noble thoughts should come to us from all
directions.
Far from contradicting them, I should perhaps humbly point out that the r'g
vedam invites all named celestials, plus the Goddess Sarasvathi, to attend on
those dutifully performing the fire-sacrifice and bless them with showers of
blessings like plentiful rain which sustains the growth of foodgrains and
confers other boons such as filling ponds and lakes withfresh water, enables
sacred rivers ro flow, and the oceans to remain to enrich the Earth on which we
live.
