Ed-

If you haven't picked up a copy of Fallout 3 yet, I can highly
recommend it. I think Bethesda has done an amazing job (and the next
logical evolution) on the Fallout universe. The blending of 1st and
3rd person characterization is left to the user. And with the VATS
system (Vaul-Tec Automated Targeting System), you have the choice of a
wild shootout or (like me) just head-shot city.

It really is one of the best FPS/RPG hybrids I've ever played- and I
am enjoying it much more than BioShock. While the BioShock storyline
led you down a designated path, FO3 is quest-generated as in previous
releases. I enjoy the sandbox storyline with the quests. You have
the opportunity to develop your character's skills at your own pace.
You can kinda tell what areas are too difficult to encounter early in
the game, and discoveries unfold naturally based on the quests you
complete.

I picked it up for the PC, since I can't see the difference in
graphics- and my thumbs aren't evolved enough for FPS's on the X-Box
360.

10 out of 10 in my opinion, and I've only got about 20 hours invested
over the last 10 days or so.
