I'm pretty sure the first Doctor Who I ever watched was the first episode with Ecclestein on Sci-Fi Channel. I may have seen the Cushing movies at some point before that but I cannot be sure. So I am no Whovian or whatever.
Anyway I liked that season with Ecclestein, and then Tennant grew on me for the most part. The season with Tennant and Donna Noble was a lot of fun because I thought Donna was a great character and a real change from the lovey dovey girls from previous years. But after the big blowoff to end that and then the really neat Christmas Special with the Victorian Cybermen, I have lost interest in the series. The one in the desert was alright, but Waters of Mars didn't turn me on, and bringing back the irritating as all hell young guy as The Master made those last two eps nearly unwatchable for me. Nevermind the whole "cliffhanger is wiped away with a wave of some guy's hand in the second part," which is lazy writing. So even with the cliffhanger with Matt Smith I just haven't been able to bring myself around to caring. (Furthermore, the idea that Obama, one, had a plan to save the economy and two, was going to announce it on Christmas Day, was completely inane. Talk about High Comedy!) Of course some of this stems from the other things going on in my life (like the birth of my son, who is now 1), but my interest is waning on Doctor Who, and I have a hard time getting much enthusiasm for it.
