I don't follow your logic. Just because something is successful I
will automatically grow to dislike it? I have no problem using
Microsoft, whom I supposedly "must" "hate," correct?

I don't care about funnelling money to large corporations. I work for
a Fortune 200 company, which is #1 in their business field. I do,
however, have a problem with funnelling money to large corporations
who turn around and then funnel money to causes which are
fundamentally opposed to my principles and beliefs -- enough to be
listed in the Top 10 contributors to said cause.

If I have to pick a side in this fight, it has to be Apple, who, while
evil, is sort of a benign evil -- unlike Google. I went to a dinner
where a VP of Google was the keynote speaker. And to a room of middle-
aged executives and businessfolks, he railed on and on about "Don't be
evil." And they're all laughing and giggling, and the whole time I am
saying to myself, "You morons, he is MAKING FUN OF YOU. You are the
ones he calls 'evil!'"

And yes the irony of point that out while posting on a Google group is
not lost to me.

If MS got their act together as far as a mobile version of Windows
which could supply Windows-like productivity, I am of the opinion that
this market would be owned by them in a short order. One hopes that
they learned their lesson with the Zune. Whether they did or not I
don't know.
