It's not supposed to be a vanilla Android, it'll be Amazon's Android. Which
means you may be limited to what you can do on it. Amazon does have their
own Android market for purchasing and installing applications though.
I would definitely wait until it comes out and read as many reviews as you
can. In my opinion, this device should not be treated as an actual tablet
but should be regarded primarily as a reading device. I doubt that it will
have all the same functions you would normally get from a smartphone. You
would be better off just getting a 4.3 inch smartphone, like the upcoming
HTC Vigor or Samsung Nexus Prime, and using that for all your digital needs
(reading comic books, novels, magazines, etc.) since those will be at the
same price with the added bonus of having a phone. Then waiting until later
when 10" tablets start dropping in price and buy then.
