Furthermore, considering that their stable of properties is not exactly
flush with top draws -- The FF have had two films and yet to have a true
blockbuster, the X-Men series has been hit or miss with regards to quality,
and who, exactly, besides comics nerds gives a rat's ass about Deadpool? --
it's kind of laughable to hear him deride DC characters.

The FF will never be a huge hit on the screen because Joe and Jane Filmgoer
see that trailer and say "Oh, it's like The Incredibles. I already have
that one on DVD."

The X-Men, it's a roll of the dice every time a film is released. Will it
be X2, or will it be Wolverine?

And Deadpool. Ahh, Deadpool. Deadpool fans like to boast about how
important and popular their guy is. You release a solo Deadpool movie, and
2 things happen:

1. A tiny fraction of a percentage point of filmgoers goes crazy on the
Internet about a Deadpool movie.

2. A substantially larger percentage of filmgoers will cock their heads to
the side and say "They're remaking that Dirty Harry movie? Huh. I already
have the original one on DVD."
