Cary, the joke was not that Deadpool was a hard boiled character.  The joke 
is that you say "Deadpool" to most people on the street, and if that name 
means anything to them, it's as the 5th Dirty Harry Movie, The Dead Pool.
 
That's where his name came from in fact.
 
No Joe Bloggs on the street is going to know who Marvel's Deadpool is.
 
And Serv is right when it comes to the money, so no, I don't blme Fox for 
rolling the dice with the X-Men.  Of the three properties which Millar was 
bragging about, that is the only proven one.  The ONLY one.
