WebOS was becoming more and more unstable. I took the plunge and did the Android installation. using the utility TPToolkit. I installed Android Kit Kat in about 30 minutes on my TouchPad. In fact, I am typing this message on the TouchPad in Android right now! So glad that everything went well,the toolkit makes everything very straightforward. If anyone is interested, I can elaborate further.
