I have restored many times with Acronis, and depend on it. Also, I really
like Windows Home Server, I have also restored to blank drives with that.

I did an Acronis true image (9) clone of my X31 hard drive last night. 
Worked perfectly the first time. Rather than do backups, I just keep a 
cloned hard drive on hand and update it from time to time.
