Most colleges have IT requirements for student laptops, including software requirements for anti-virus, particular applications, and so on. Some also have purchase plans in place for students to receive discounts. This information is usually available on the university's website. I would do a bit of research first to make sure you're meeting their requirements, and if discounts are available.
