Snarky? How can "Please don't." possibly be construed as snarky? That was probably one of the nicer things I've written in all the years I've been here.
At the time that I put that in, I vaguely remember there being a problem with some e-mail clients and the digests if people sent HTML and from AOL in particular. Take it out; leave it in.
