I do not see your or any other list messages being in HTML. If it was

The reflector strips the HTML, so email sent from most email clients
usually comes through fine. Messages sent from webmail, when
formatted in HTML, can be an entirely separate issue. Very often
messages from webmail can appear malformed and difficult to read
after being stripped by a reflector. This may be entirely a function
of the way software for the reflector is set up - this list uses
Mailman, and I cannot recall seeing malformed webmail messages here.
I subscribe to many other mailing lists which use Mailman (notably on
RootsWeb), and on some I see those malformed webmail messages, so the
Mailman settings for those lists may be different than they are here.
In any case I concur with a number of messages upstream, and conclude
that HTML formatting in the subscribers' email clients is not a
problem here (although as a bit pusher of about 50 years I will note
that my client sends only plain text at all times).
