I had gotten out of the habit of hibernating for various (non-technical) reasons but recently needed to do so in a hurry.
It must have taken 15 minutes of disk activity (with the hibernate progress bar showing) to do the hibernation! (Perhaps I exaggerate, but it was long enough that I could decide not to wait any longer, unplug, take the elevator downstairs with the notebook screen partially open, get in the passenger seat, and be driving away with the notebook in my lap). Are there any likely causes? And how do I troubleshoot/fix this?
