Back to cleaning my old keyboard, can I just use the distilled water
sold in grocery store? I already got a 99% bottle of isopropyl alcohol,
will get another. Do I just soak it in distilled water for 30 mins and
then wash it down with alcohol or any other way?

It is hard to judge without knowing how bad the soda mess is.

There is very little in the keyboard that you can damage with water, or even soapy water. While there are a few moving parts (namely the keys), they are not lubricated, and as long as the water dries properly and leaves no deposits they will be as good as new. Similarly, the electonics are all fine as long as all the water is gone. (With distilled water you don't even need the water gone!)

The advantage of distilled water is that it leaves no deposits, but you could even run it under tap water followed by a distilled rinse. The reason I like to add a little alcohol to water when washing electronics parts is that it helps speed the drying, but this certainly doesn't need to be in the first wash.
