Thanks !

I performed a language change as suggested here :

http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkVantage-Technologies/How-to-change-acce
ss-connection-5-02-GUI-language-Picture/m-p/65089/highlight/false#M2748

However, this procedure does not add an “area 5” (see attached). And
there was no “area 5” in the French version either.

I have read that AC is able to tell in what country you are (based on
IP) and will not take notice of the regional settings, or even OS
language. Does it mean that in order to get the “area 5” I need to
install through a foreign based proxy?

Adrian,

Choose to "edit" a profile. From the Wireless Settings tab, click the
Advanced Settings button (in area #5 - "Advance configuration")
this will open an "Advanced Wireless Settings" dialog box where you can
supposedly set the preferred AP MAC addresses. I don't seem to be able
to specify any data in those fields, but that may be due to the fact
that I have only one AP on my home LAN.

Thanks for your reply David !

Do you mean the "/" as a submenu, or as a "or/and" ? I can't find in
either case.

I have Access Connections (AC) v. 5.61 compilation 81CX33WW. There is a
"basic" and a "advanced" mode (the translations may not be exact).

I use the advance mode.

When I open a connection profile, there are 3 tabs :
"General parameters", "Wireless parameters", and "Supplementary
Parameters".

The only place I see mention of MAC address recording is not in a given
connection profile, but in the "Tools" tab of the main AC window. It's
the green button "Location Changing" (right column, topmost).

There is a "Modify saved ports" at the bottom of the window". But when
you click on it, it appears to apply only to Ethernet cards (indeed, AC
prompts me if I want to "save the connection" or something only when I
plug a Ethernet cable. Further more, you have to check "automatic" at
the top of the window. I think this is something else from what I am
looking for. When I export a connection, the MAC of the AP is not in the
text file.

Did I miss something?

Access Connections can certainly do this. Edit the connection, look for

wireless settings/advanced configuration. It lets you enter a preferred
MAC
for the access point.
