1) Do you have a different machine to try the card in?
If so, is the firmware on the Aircard up to date? (I have
had issues with various hardware devices when the
devices had buggy firmware in the devices themselves
although I have never used an Aircard). If the firmware
is old, use the working, different machine to update to the
latest available firmware on the card. Then try it again
in the T43.

2) Do you have a different machine with a PC Card
slot and a fully updated OS and hardware drivers for
all the hardware in the machine, possibly with and OS
more recent than XP? If so, does the card configure
in that machine? If so, you might consider a more
recent OS/driver set for your T43. You might consider
booting a Live CD (or USB version) of a Linux/UNIX
to see if the card will configure with that.

3) Have you disabled in the T43 BIOS things that you may
not use (serial port, parallel port, devices in a docking
station if you are using one of those, etc)? Some of those
may use resources (interrupts, memory blocks, IO addresses,
etc) that may prevent the PC Card from configuring. With
some PC cards, I had to select non-standard configurations
to make them work and Windows did NOT help matters
(the cards worked with standard configurations with UNIX
but NOT with Windows).

4) Have you applied all appropriate updates from Lenovo
for your T43? However, some "updates" may cause
issues also (a co-worker with a T400 recently had an
update prevent bluetooth from working and cause various
system instabilities - he had to revert to a recent backup).

I note that Sierra has stopped supporting the 860. You
may be able to get it to work but sometimes manufacturers
stop supporting flawed devices (although many would
never admit to flaws).

Good luck,

Stuart

(who has had issues with add-on hardware with a T43p
with a docking station with a PCI card installed).
