My daughter has a T400 that has just had a second Intel wireless card fail
in the last 6 months. The firswt one was replaced under warranty, and
once installed the wireless connection worked again. Now it appears that
the same thing has happened again. The system, running Win 7, does not
recognize that any wireless hardware is installed. I went through all of
the troubleshooting steps suggested by Lenovo support (re-seating the
card, manually installing drivers, toggling the external switch, etc.)
Are there known problems with either the T400 motherboard or the Intel
wireless card that would lead to a repeat occurrence? We have not had and
similar problems with 2 other T400s in the house, but having the same
failure 2 different times makes me suspicious. And this machine will be
going off to college in a month or so, which will make any ongoing support
more difficult.
Any ideas? Is there a better wireless card available for the T400?
