Thanks for the responses on this. I did check BIOS before posting my message, the wireless card was just dead.

Lenovo sent me a new card (5300 series a/b/g/n card instead of the b/g/n card it previously had), and everything seems to be working just fine with the new card. I'm hopeful that switching to a different model wireless ard will prove to be a permanent fix.
