Bonjour Dominique, how are things in SF?

I sincerely doubt you can get a free update from Lenovo for your machine.
Better to just spring for the small amount asked for 7 recovery CDs at
http://www.thinkpadrecoverycds.com/windows7.html

I'll let you know how the Windows 7 DVD works on a new install rather than
as an upgrade. I borrowed the set my buddy bought and I'm going to try them
on a clean install in my X61 tablet on a spare 320GB HD I've got.

Regards,

James

Hi James, I just bought a new X301 that came with 32-bit Win7 Pro. I
would like to replace it with the 64-bit flavor, since I put 8 GB of RAM
in that machine. Should I use the above link to buy 64-bit Win7 Pro, or
am I entitled to a free upgrade (since it's the same edition)?

Thanks,

Dominique
