OK, thanks! I think I'll also perform the install from scratch on my X301, since I haven't really had the opportunity to install anything else than the factory Win 7. I did enroll my finger prints, but I believe they will survive the new install.

I selected "custom install" and reinstalled everything from scratch (deleting the partition used by the factory pre-install). My already enrolled fingerprints were preserved, as I expected.

I now have a fully functional 64-bit Win 7 Pro and 8 GB of RAM on my shiny new X301.
