So, all you need is a plug adapter, from UK to USA.
This should work. Do not get one that actually converts power, just the plug.
If you don't have time to do this before traveling, the "figure 8" connection between the line cord and the adapter is a standard type for UK teakettles. You can get a whole new cord, including a fused UK plug (which gives an extra level of protection), at any appliance/electronics or hardware store (or "pound store" or open market...) for a couple of pounds.
