Yes. Graphics cards could drive 1800x1400 before DVI came along, so
yes, there's no problem in this respect. But note that there the usual
DVI digital connection is limited to something like 1920x1200 (you can
actually drive higher resolutions than that, but you have to reduce the
refresh frequency correspondingly), so if you need more than that you'll
have to either use VGA, or DP, or a dual-link DVI (and a DP to
dual-link DVI has to be active, hence need a power source: more
complex, more costly).
