This is for someone to replace their aging Dell monstrosity. 3G may be
enough, but I was really hoping for 8G, or at least 4G. Before mine was
stolen I had 3G in it--I never thought that I couldn't have 4G.
whimper. Oh well. At least my W500 can take 8G, which I just got today!

Honestly, if the amount of available RAM is the biggest issue you're
facing with T60p, consider yourself lucky...
I'm typing on mine now and yes, it's a great machine. Run it next to a
T520 and it will seem like a snail.

And that's coming from someone who hates 16:9 format with a passion...
If your T60p is a 4:3 unit, you can always throw in a T61/p board with
a couple of small mods and enjoy 8GB...

Really? That's sad -- I've always been able to stuff more memory than
what IBM said before. That the chipset limits one to 3G is even more
depressing.
I wonder what the chance is that dissimilar sodimms would have a
problem. Still, if the chipset is hobbled, it wouldn't matter.
