Not quite true, no matter what Lenovo says. Some versions of 32-bit Windows can use up to and more than 4GB RAM, such as Server 2003. 32-bit Linux can use much more memory too. Both require PAE. I used 32-bit Linux on my T400 with a PAE kernel, for example.
