The 4GB DIMM works perfectly well in my daughter's T61, along with a 2GB
one...RAM is fine, it just doesn't fly well on T60p in that quantity.

Honestly, if the amount of available RAM is the biggest issue you're facing
with T60p, consider yourself lucky...

I'm typing on mine now and yes, it's a great machine. Run it next to a T520 and
it will seem like a snail.

A lovable snail, but a snail no less.

And that's coming from someone who hates 16:9 format with a passion...

If your T60p is a 4:3 unit, you can always throw in a T61/p board with a couple
of small mods and enjoy 8GB...

Cheers,

George

Really? That's sad -- I've always been able to stuff more memory than
what IBM said before. That the chipset limits one to 3G is even more
depressing.

I wonder what the chance is that dissimilar sodimms would have a
problem. Still, if the chipset is hobbled, it wouldn't matter.

Feh. (But thanks)

to 3GB of usable RAM regardless of OS used, due to a chipset limitation.
