I'm using my old X300 as a replacement machine while my X220 gets working again
(another thread). The 64GB SSD is becoming an ever bigger challenge since
someone else uses the machine now. We've worked really hard to keep even 5GB
free on an ongoing basis, I tried to restore my current emails and dropped it to
<2GB!

Are there any limits on what drive I can use in this X300? Something analogous
to the Crucial M4 D1 (7mm) vs. D2 (9mm) issue, I mean.

Amazon Prime has a Kingston SVP180S2/128G for $219, or 256GB for $421; Lenovo
43N3406 128GB for $329
I'm also confused because many (e.g. OCZ Nocti, 120GB=U$140) seem to be bare
circuit boards but then the Kingston has an enclosure. Kingston's memory picker
is saying I want SSDNow V+180 which comes in 64, 128, 256. I think I'm
misremembering a need for mSATA in the X300 when it was really for the extra
drive in the X220 maybe?

Crucial's memory picker says the X300 will take a WD Scorpio Blue HDD 1GB
SATA-300 (5200rpm), is that right? The X300 only offered the SSD when new. Not
sure I want to put in a HD but 1TB is intriguing at that price.

The Kingston looks like the best price ($219 for 128GB) in a name that I
actually recognize. And 5/5 on Amazon (only 3 reviews). Does anyone have
comments on this drive? I'm thinking 128GB should be enough because it's going
from 64GB (so expectations of keeping it lean).

Thanks!
